Thriving Roots: Women in Ag Field Day for Productive Soils

  • West Central Research and Outreach Center 1238 W Hwy 329 Morris, MN 56267 (map)

The University of Minnesota Extension Women in Ag Network invites any and all women who are interested in learning more about soil health to join them at the upcoming Thriving Roots: Women in Ag Field Day for Productive Soils. The objective of this field day is to introduce women to soil health topics, including the benefits and economics of cover crops, erosion’s effects on crop productivity, how different tillage implements move the soil to help crop growth, and University research being conducted to improve the health and productivity of the soil. There will be intentional networking time for women to ask questions, meet other women in ag, and discuss soil health strategies for their farm.

The event will feature four sessions, covering topics such as tillage, cover crops, planting green, and soil erosion. Sessions will rotate, each presentation given four times. Everyone will come together for the Economics of Cover Crops to close. For more information on the agenda and presentations, visit http://z.umn.edu/Sept8
