Water Monitoring: The science behind keeping our lakes healthy

  • Hardwood Creek Branch Library 19955 Forest Road North Forest Lake, MN, 55025 United States (map)

How healthy are our lakes? How do we know if they are improving or declining? How can I help protect our local waterways? If you’ve ever asked yourself these questions, this presentation is for you! Water monitoring experts from the Comfort Lake-Forest Lake Watershed District will be giving a hands-on demonstration on how the health of our local lakes and streams are monitored. Attendees will learn about the current health of our lakes, the factors that are used to determine that health rating, and the various citizen science programs available to residents. This presentation is great for adults looking to make a stronger connection with their local water resources and for young adults considering a career in natural resources and looking for volunteer opportunities to gain hands-on experience.
