Join The Munch Bunch for an up-close look at virtual fencing technology. The goats will be in action browsing a thicket of buckthorn and prickly ash. There is no perimeter or paddock fencing being used. The research project is evaluating the effectiveness of virtual fencing in a variety of locations and vegetations.
Nofence grazing technology consists of a solar-powered GPS collar and a digital boundary that the user creates. The collar communicates with an app and web portal via the mobile network.
Learn how the goats are trained, how the system works, and most importantly, to hear if the goats escaped or not. There will be no hopping over fences at this event!
